So, if Mendo is correct, the Charging Light is really a low voltage warning, and would light up if the volatge in the battery dropped below a certain point. Still, one would have thought that it would light up to confirm the light was functional as per all the other warning lights.

Not saying things never go wrong but needing to do a dealer reset isn't SOP from what I've seen. 2014 JGC Summit 5.7L.

So I pushed the button for the seat heater and the 2 lights came on and I heard a clicking sound. After 2 seconds I heard another clicking sound and the lights went off.

The POS leads for the two batteries are connected directly together through a fuse, so a disconnected POS lead can still short to ground.
