It is just a gauge of how robust the Rebel shutter is compared to others. It isn't a trustworthy gauge of how many clicks your individual shutter will do. Some do 10, some do 250,000. Second I will be shocked if your shutter is OK. $299 is a reasonable cost for a replacement shutter. Digic DV 4. Interchangeable Lens System. I've been doing further testing of my camera body and shutter. I noticed that I don't see the whilte bar across the top of the photo as slower shutter speeds, say 1/4 or slower. Possibly 1/8 or slower. And I don't see the wide white bar on the second, third, fourth, fifth photos, and on, after the f

The 5DSR is a medium-sized dslr, in its standard form. As far as medium-sized dslr bodies go, it is quite chunky in terms of bulk. The grip and controls can be a little bit of a stretch for those with smaller hands. It shares its dimensions with the 5D Mark 3, at 152.0 x 116.4 x 76.4mm.

That’s exactly what happened to photographer Myles Dunphy while on a trip to Fiji. The shutter on his Canon 5D Mark II huffed and puffed and then simply gave up. A quick check of the repair shop gave Dunphy a quote of $500 to get it fixed. Knowing that a replacement shutter costs only $90, Dunphy decided to have a go at it himself.

The R5 will give you better weather sealing than the R6. I replaced my 1dx II with an R5 + 100-500 for wildlife and have no regrets based on 17 days shooting in YNP/GTNP. I rented an R6 as a backup for the R5 and used my 100-400 II with no issues. Does anyone know shutter replacement cost of R5 or R6 these days? I made a search and it used to be around $200-$300 many years ago, but there is no new information. I have a M6 Mark II. I used it a lot in high-speed mode, and the shutter failed in 2 years after around 200k shots. I have a third party warranty and they sent the camera to Canon. "I got an estimate of $92.00 for repair " Based on a very limited knowledge of shutter replacement, that is too cheap. I would certainly be concerned that they are really replacing a shutter for that amount.
On paper, it was s significant improvement over the 60D, but many of them have suffered from an electrical problem that requires an expensive repair. The 80D and 90D are much better bets, especially if you can find a refurbished unit at the Canon online store. Bob. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. 3 Likes.

10-13-2020 06:54 AM. As Waddizzle advised, get it to Canon for warranty service. The shutter release is in the most unreliable family of electronic components since it is both mechanical and electrical. That component likely had a manufacturing defect when it was supplied to Canon and has failed at a very early age.
