TheStarter motor. The car was running fine (after I replaced the alternator) and then today it blew the starter motor fuse (no. 8). I put another fuse in which immediately blew on attempting to start the engine. Just wondering if you could have any idea where the the starter motor located in a 2005 peugeot 407 1.6 hdi. Can someone please advise me if this is an DIY'ers job and the location, I've been looking for a few hours and still cannot find the old one. Thanks in advance. Firstconnect red cable to the positive terminal of your C5’s dead battery, then to the positive terminal of donor battery. Next connect black cable to the negative terminal of donor battery, then to the bare metal in the engine bay of your C5. Start the donor vehicle and then your C5. Remove the cables in reverse order.

Afterchanging the injector seals and fuel priming pump (and associated hoses) the van will not start. The engine turns over fine and the starter motor is brand new, after the old one failed after trying to start the engine. Fuel system primed for several hours, even using an electric pump. Fuel filter checked, was only replaced 2 months ago.

Justreplaced starter motor on an 05 Citroen C2 VTS 1.6 so I thought I'd share my insight. This guide should cover all petrol C2 models to about 2009.

If i disconnect the water temp sensor wire then the glow plug light comes on and the engine starts with no smoke .
